Plumbing Problems That You Can Encounter

There are many problems that homeowners face and one of them is plumbing problems. Plumbing problems can be of different types. The most common plumbing problems are given below. In this list, we will also find out how to identify these problems, and give you a few DIY solutions.

Many times our drains get clogged. If your drains are clear, then water will not collect in the sink or tub but simply passes quickly. Your drains are clogged if the water does not drain. Many times clogs are formed by soap and hair. If you want to dissolve the soap clog then simply pour hot water into the drain. Solid objects in the drain can be removed with a drain snake or a wire coat hanger.

Although you can use chemical drain cleaners, your plumbing can get damaged. The reason is that they contain lye which reacts with water with heat. This can burn or damage your plumbing. Call a professional plumbing service and repair if it does not solve your clogged drains.

Another plumbing problem that you can encounter is toilet backup. Use a toilet plunger to clear the blockage. IF the blockage is not removed, try flushing the toilet with a bucket of hot, soapy water from waist height. Your toilet can flush with the force or it can simply fill and not flush. After pouting 2 to 3 buckets of water, your problem may be solved.

It is annoying to have a leaking faucet and it will also lead to an increased water bill. It is a handle problem even if the leak is in the faucet’s mouth. You need to determine which handle is responsible if you have a double handle sink hardware. Turn the hot and cold valves off one at a time and find out which handle is leaking.

You should remove the parts once you have found out which handle is leaking. You need to clean the pieces and replace the cartridges and o-rings as necessary. If you clean the parts, then your handle will have a proper seal. There is nothing to be replaced.

if there is low water pressure, then it will take a lot of time to wash dishes. When this happens, it is important to clean that aerator. If there is a build-up of sediments and minerals then pressure slows down. Make sure to check your aerator for rust. Rusted parts should be replaced. You can clean your aerator by brushing or soaking overnight in vinegar. Then place it back tightly.

If you are not able to fix your plumbing problems with these DIY solutions, then you should call a professional plumber to fix your problem.
